PANGALENGAN
Pangalengan is a village in mountain range. It lies south Bandung regency, about 42 km from the central city of Bandung. The area is surrounded by many mountains, standing elegant when the morning breaks. It’s so beautiful when the sun arise from behind of mountain covered by fog. The shines that come out from between of fog seem to be so impatience to give the warmth. Pangalengan border on Garut regency from the east, boundary by Wayang mountain, while southerly border on Ciwidey, boundary by Tilu Mountain. The journey to go there is full of challenges. The road is on between mountain side, tortous and a little bit slope upward. On some place there a lot of sharp bend, for instance road on Cadas Pangeran, but the mountain side is not too steep. Although, there are a lot of domestic tourists come there because of the beautiful scenery.
Pangalengan is well known of its cold weather but chilly and beautiful charming scenery. There are wide tea plantage outspread background with bright blue sky. Its blue sky makes the scenery more beautiful, called Malabar. About 2 km from Malabar to east there is natural hot spring called Cibolang, where we can spoiled ourselves soak on it. The location on the central of tea plantage and on the mountainside increase the coolness that made you spend hours there. Beside, there is Cileunca Lake. We can go around the lake using a boat. And for you who like challenge there is rafting. Start from the river near the lake and finish on the small village. The river is not too wide, also the flow is not too fast, so it is appropriate for the first rafting.
Pangalengan known as the village produce vegetables and milk, therefore life hood of farmer there is. Many vegetables produce there are tomatoes, potatoes, carrots, corns, etc. Because of the soil fertile and cold weather, vegetables flourish there. As a produced of milk Pangalengan has many special food like dodol, karamel, kerupuk, and tahu that all made from milk.
